A deliciously simple puff pastry sweet treat. Thanks to Nikibakes for the recipe.
Ingredients
| 900g | puff pastry |
| 3 tbsp | honey |
| 3 tbsp | sugar |
| a scattering | dried rose petals and cornflowers |
| 1 tbsp | desiccated coconut |
| 1 tbsp | crushed pistachios |
Method
- Spread the dough on a well floured work surface.
- Mix the honey with 2 tbsp of water, stir well.
- Apply the honey mixture on the flattened dough.
- Cut out the dough in any shape you'd prefer.
- Place the zabans in a well floured pastry pan.
- Make a half way cut in the centre of each zaban.
- Sprinkle sugar over the zabans.
- Preheat the oven to 200ºC and bake the cookies for 7 to 10 minutes (until it doubles in height).
- Turn the oven down to 170ºC and continue baking for 20 to 25 more minutes (until golden).
- Remove the zabans from the oven.
- Apply more of the honey mixture, garnish with dried edible flowers, the desiccated coconut and crushed pistachios and enjoy!
