Steenbergs Organic Zhug is our dry-spice version of this classic hot and spicy chilli sauce from the Yemen - it's sometimes called skhug or kharif - and is also found as a condiment for felafel on the stalls of street vendors in the Middle East.  All you need to do to get a good zhug is to take some of the Steenbergs Organic Zhug and drizzle over and mix in some cold-pressed olive oil to give a nice liquidy red peppery sauce that's perfect for dipping.  Steenbergs Organic Zhug is hot and spicy mix, which can be used to flavour soups or stews or it's great used like Steenbergs Organic Dukkah as a dip for pitta bread together with a cool bottle of white wine sitting out in the sunshine - I wish.

Like all Steenbergs organic seasonings and organic spice blends, Steenbergs Organic Zhug has been lovingly and carefully mixed at Steenbergs factory in Ripon North Yorkshire.

Ingredients in Steenbergs Organic Zhug Spice Mix - organic chilli powder , organic cracked black pepper , organic ground caraway seeds , organic paprika ( pimenton ),  organic coriander leaf ( cilantro ), organic sweet bell pepper , natural sea salt (3%), organic ground cardamom seeds , organic garlic granules
