Peppered Steak

What to do

  1. Crush the peppercorns in mortar and pestle, then beat the steaks lightly and press in the cracked pepper. Brush with oil and leave to marinade for at least 2 hours, or overnight in refrigerator.
  2. Cook steaks on a hot grill with a little butter to your liking. Remove steaks to a warm dish. Add some extra butter to the pan, melt then season with salt and a squeeze of lemon and pour over steaks. Serve garnished with watercress and boiled new or fried potatoes.
