Steenbergs Special Cupcakes

Makes 12

Ingredients

Butter cream topping

 

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 C/ 350 F
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together in a mixing bowl
  3. Add the eggs, milk and Steenbergs organic vanilla paste.
  4. Mix well and add the flour and beat together.
  5. Divide the mixture between 12 cupcake cases and bake for 12/15 minutes.
  6. Once they are golden brown on top and a skewer comes out clean, place on a cooling rack to cool completely.

 

For the buttercream, beat all the ingredients together until smooth.

This is the fun bit!!!

You can mix into you buttercream whatever flavour you like.

 

Some ideas:

2-3 tsp Steenbergs organic Lemon extract, 2-3 tsp Steenbergs organic orange extract, 2-3 tsp Steenbergs organic rose sugar, 2-3 tsp Steenbergs organic Lavender sugar, 2-3 tsp Steenbergs organic spiced chai sugar, 2-3 tsp Steenbergs organic peppermint extract and if you are feeling brave ½  tsp Steenbergs organic chilli powder!!!!

 

You can then top your cakes with:

Steenbergs silver balls, light chocolate flavour strands, fairtrade chocolate drops, pink and white marshmallows, rainbow sugar strands. Any thing you like really.
