Warming Beef Casserole

 

Having just purchased a slow cooker I wanted a recipe to give warmth and flavour to cold winter nights. This can be cooked in a slow clooker (7 to 8 hours on slow) or in an oven.

Any root vegetables can be used in this recipe and alter according to taste

Ingredients

Method

  1. Season the flour with the Perfect Salt. Roll the beef in the seasoned flour
  2. Fry the beef in hot oil until browned in a casserole dish. When brown, transfer to the slow cooker or a plate
  3. Brown the onions in the oil and then return meat to casserole dish.
  4. Add the chopped vegetables, the garlic and the sabzi ghormeh
  5. Add the vegetable stock and bring to the boil
  6. Place in a low oven for about an hour untili cooked
  7. Serve with crunchy jacket potatoes or on creamy mash

If you are cooking this in a slow cooker brown the meat and onions. Transfer to slow cooker, add rest of ingredients and off you go! I cooked this for 7 hours on 'slow' setting - delicious!
