Amchur Ground Powder Or Mango Powder 53g

Steenbergs Amchur Powder or Green Mango Powder is part of Steenbergs specialist spice range.  Amchoor powder is a key ingredient in Indian cuisine and is used as an acidulant within Indian cuisine. Also known as Amchoor powder.

Steenbergs amchur powder comes from the dried unripe fruit of the mango tree - hence dried green mango powder and is also what it says where Am means mango and choor means powder.  The dried amchur slices are light brown in colour and have a rough texture.  The fresh is dried and then ground to a fine powder of a beige like colour.  Amchur has a warm aroma that has a tart fruitness to it and a fizzy, tingly, acidic mouthfeel, like a tart unripe apple is lively and acidic compared to the warming sweetness of a just plucked ripe apple.

Steenbergs Amchoor Powder is another specialist spice that Axel Steenberg has had great fun tracking down and is only sold to our web customers, and we don't sell to trade.
