Organic almonds are the fruit of the almond tree, Amigdalus communis, of which there are 2 kinds – sweet or bitter.  The tree itself is a native of Africa, but it thrives throughout Southern Europe, Australia, South Africa and California.  The best organic almonds come from California, Italy and Spain.  Organic almonds are large, sweet, flat and oblong and have a pleasant, nutty aroma. These whole and shelled almonds come from Italy.

Almonds are wonderful for use in baking as well as very moreish as snacks! Delicious in many sweet and savoury dishes.
