Organic Vegetable Curry Powder

Steenbergs Organic Vegetable Curry Powder was developed an all purpose organic curry mix for vegetables and pulses. If you are looking for vegetable curry mixes you could also try Steenbergs organic chana masala which was created to work well with chickpeas and other pulses and Steenbergs organic panch phora.
The classic curry flavours are built on the lemony flavours of organic coriander seed and the earthy, astringency of organic cummin and organic turmeric , with heat built in from organic brown mustard seeds and ginger powder and sweetness from the organic cassia and ground cardamom , giving it a gentle warming Indian flavour and aroma that complements rather than overpowers vegetables.
To make the organic curry base, chop up an onion finely and 2 - 3 cloves of garlic and fry these for 5 minutes over a gentle heat. While these are frying, add a couple of tablespoons of water to 1 - 2 teaspoons of Steenbergs Organic Vegetable Curry Mix to make a paste and then add this to the onion-garlic base, and fry gently for another couple of minutes. This is you vegetable Curry Base and you can add almost anything to it - perhaps some chopped peppers, a tin of chopped tomatoes and some cubed aubergine ( eggplant ) that has been gently fried or perhaps mixed mushrooms. Play around a bit and be creative, and be happy with life.
