Steenbergs Jasmine Silver Balls Tea is a gorgeous jasmine tea that has been hand stitched to create an amazing chrysanthemum shaped flower when brewed.  Steenbergs Jasmine Silver Balls Tea have been hand crafted especially for tea cogniscenti in the Chongquing Province of China.  The method for making these special Jasmine Tea Balls is to select leaves that are long and mottled white, then to tied them together; after which the central leaves are cut short and the outer ones kept long, whereupon the outer leaves are shaped painstakingly into a ball, before the tea is steamed and dried with fresh jasmine flower to impart the classic delicate jasmine flavour and aroma.

The brewed tea has a pale green colour and has a smooth green flavour with delicate and exquisite jasmine tones, that are cleansing and pleasantly astringent.  When you brew the tea, you will notice the outer leaves start to unfurl and slowly the chrysanthemum shape reveals itself, creating a shape that implies tranquility, beauty, health and a long healthy life.

Tea brewing: Put 1 ball of Jasmine Silver Balls Tea into a teapot.  Bring fresh water to boil, then after a 20 second wait pour over Jasmine Silver Balls Tea, or at about 80oC/180oF.  Steep for 3 - 5 minutes.  Watch the leaves unfurl to reveal a shape like a chrysanthemum flower.
