Mexican Chile Blend Organic

Description Price Quantity
Organic Mexican Chile Blend Standard 44g e £2.25

Steenbergs Mexican chile powder is milder than pure chilli powder, which is just ground chillis. It is an agreeable blend of organic chilli, organic cumin and organic paprika that combines the fire of chilli with the earthiness of cumin seeds. The inclusion of paprika creates a mildness and almost sweet flavour, while the cumin provides the Mexican character it's strange how cumin, that classic Indian/Moroccan spice, has a true Mexican flavour when combined with paprika or chopped tomatoes in a salsa. Use Steenbergs Mexican chile powder for chilli con carne or in North Mexican bean tamales, such as Tamales de Frijol Norteos, or in Tex-Mex dishes. High street taco seasonings are usually padded with extra salt, starchy fillers and monosodium glutamate, so try our more authentic blend. Hand-blended by Steenbergs Organic in North Yorkshire (UK) to a recipe inspired by Diana Kennedy from organic chilli powder, organic cumin, organic garlic, organic onion, organic coriander leaves, organic paprika and organic oregano plus a small amount of hand-harvested sea salt from Portugal.
