Green Field Estate has had their suspension lifted today after making some changes and providing extra paperwork. They are intending to let their Fairtrade trading entity Greenfield Bio Plantations Ltd lapse as they are no longer using this company, and the costs of maintaining it are too high for any potential benefit.

We feel it shows that it is sometimes good to have faith and belief in one's suppliers and work with them over time to improve their systems and practices, rather than throwing in the towel whenever there is a hiccup.

I have finally worked out how to respond, but here is the response I did straight away and attached to Tom Heinemann's comments above:

Don’t worry we are well aware of Greenfields current situation and as such are currently unable to purchase from them. However, it is also a core part of Fairtrade that we have long term relationships with our Fairtrade suppliers and we continue to support them in their endeavours to rectify the issues raised by FLO in their recent audit process; as such we would expect to restart working with them again when they get their suspension lifted. Should this not occur, we have other alternative suppliers for our Fairtrade teas from Sri Lanka. Thank you for your concern.

Regarding Greenfield: Are you aware of the fact, that Greenfield has been temporarely suspended from Fairtrade and if thing's don't get better, Greenfield will risk to lose its Fairtrade license.
